Vintage 1974 Fighting Fish Belt Buckle from renowned designer Mimi di Niscemi.
I've recently been fortunate to acquire a family member's collection of original Mimi di N belt buckles. The fighting fish are obviously the standout set and slightly harder to come by than her other designs. Each fish measures 2 1/4" long and 2" wide at the tail...the entire buckle with the two pieces together, measures 3 1/2" long. The belt loops would hold a 1 3/8" wide length of your favorite material.
Mimi di Niscemi emigrated from Italy and began her career with noted designers. She started her own company in 1960, creating jewelry and belt buckle designs through the 1990's.
They are in excellent condition and show no signs of wear to any areas. I have photographed them in varying lighting.
Marked Mimi di N (with copyright symbol) and 1974.
I do want to mention that there is a company doing Mimi di N reproduction pieces. They are not identical (although they are very pretty) to the originals and have been in production since 2010. Please be informed when buying your pieces, as this company is selling wholesale and what may appear to be vintage, may not be. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Please remember that all of my items are completely guaranteed. If you're not happy with your purchase, for any reason, simply contact me for a complete refund.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
