Architectural Salvage in the broadest sense of the phrase. I came across these two interesting beauties standing on their own in a corner. They are the glass inserts, from what I'm sure was quite the eye popping, Hollywood Regency coffee table. The table did not fair as well as the inserts and I decided that they would find their way into home decor as decorative wall pieces...think under a lighting sconce or on either side of a bed or fireplace, depending on the home. They could even lean a little on the Gothic side of design. They are layered with what appears to be a gold heavy foil or fabric underneath a scrolled black velvet design. These would be stunning in a custom black frame!
I would happily sell them as a set but am listing them separately - should you choose to purchase both, I will discount the pricing by 20%.
They are in excellent condition (the white cloud that you see in the second pic is only a reflection of my front door - there is no clouding to either of pieces in any way). A couple of minor scratches to the backing and a small chip on the edge of the top of one piece (only noticeable when looked at from above).
Each piece measures 23.5" from top to bottom (highest point to lowest point), 19.5" side to side (widest point to widest point). The curved dip in top measures 2.5" deep from the top. Each weighs a little over 5 lbs.
A little overly "whimsical" even for me, but just too cool to pass up!
Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
