If you love moonstones as much as I do, please have a look at my newest addition. The adularescence on these two watery cabochon moonstones are exceptional when any form of light is present. There are two moonstones used to create this wonderful piece of period jewelry. The top moonstone is spherical and set is a 6-claw prong setting. The bottom one is oval and placed is a bezel setting. The frame is an intricate Art Deco creation, the bale garnished with a fleur-de-lis.

On the inside part of this bale is clearly marked 10K H, while the accompanying chain is marked 14K. I believe this chain was added at a later date as is has a lobster claw closure. Total length of this chain is 16 inches with the pendant measuring approximately 1 ½ inches in length by a ½ inch in width. Total weight is 2.4 grams.

Definition: Adularescence, also commonly referred to as schiller, is best described as a milky, bluish luster or glow originating from below the surface of the gemstone.

Moonstone: They are translucent with a sheen that resembles pearls and opals. The gems come in a variety of colors such as white, gray, peach, pink, yellow, blue, and green. Some types of moonstones are completely transparent and others are colorless.
