Edwardian Blue Enamel 14K Yellow Gold Lingerie Pin

Those who know me know that I have a penchant for very tiny brooches/pins, especially those in premium condition. This lingerie pin is a very good example of this obsession. There is a geometric blue enamel design that runs across the front surface of this brooch.

Brooch measures approximately 1 inch in length by 1/8 inch in width and weighs 1.25 grams. Brooch is solidly constructed using 14k yellow gold. On the top of the clasp is clearly marked to one side ‘14K’, and to the other a company icon.

The clasp is quite unique, you have the traditional pin and hook style closure which is found on most Victorian brooches with an added safety lever. Once the pin is engaged in the ‘C’ clasp the lever on the side is pushed up, which doesn’t close the space completely but doesn’t allow the pin to disengage. This clasp style was predominantly used in the Edwardian and very early Art Deco periods.

Pin is in excellent condition with no enamel loss found on the piece. This would make a wonderful addition to your clutch of brooches or could be the perfect gift to the new mother of a baby boy. Please enjoy my photographs.
