Art Deco Faceted Oval Amethyst Crystal Sterling Silver Lavalier Necklace

This lovely lavalier necklace is one of the prettiest I have seen in a while. Perhaps it is the amethyst/lilac color of these oval faceted stones. Each stone is placed in a collet setting which allows the light to filter through beautifully. These crystals are heavily faceted to the back and measure approximately 10 by 8mm’s including the bezel. Length of this collier is 16 inches with the pendant measuring an additional drop of one inch. Total weight of this piece of jewelry is 10.87 grams.

The bolt ring is marked 925 for sterling silver. All sterling links found between each stone have been soldered closed. Condition is very nice with slight age-appropriate wear noted on close inspection.

These amethyst crystal stones are open-backed and cut very much like a diamond with a nice large round table and multiple facets found on the sides and bottom which completely surround the table. Piece is extremely comfortable when worn and sits at the base of the neck.

Definition: Collet setting is when the stone is fitted in an open or closed ring or dish, made from metal tubing or a thin metal band. This type of setting is commonly used for rings and for necklaces, particularly rivière necklaces.
