This Art Deco 900 grade coin silver negligee necklace is simply striking with a large oval hand-cut cabochon Aventurine center stone and four matching drops. The center cabochon is a very nice size oval measuring 20 by 14 mm’s (including bezel) with a thickness of 6 mm’s. The drops are 19 by 8 mm’s including the end cap settings. There is a fair amount of Mica flakes which gives these gems a glistening effect when worn. All five gems are nicely buffed and are perfectly matched in color making a lovely statement piece.
Total length of this necklace is approximately 17 ½ inches in length, with an additional two inch drop, and comes with a perfectly functional bolt ring and loop style clasp. The chain used is the perfect size to really highlight and showcase these beautiful stones. On the loop that is soldered to the chain and acts as part of the clasp closure there appears to be foreign stamps, hard to make out. The necklace has as well been tested for silver and will be guaranteed as such.
The condition of this piece is extremely nice, with very little wear if any found on the stones. There aren’t any chips or cracks that I can see using my loupe. What appears as white spots that are seen on the stones are simply sparkle from the reflective flecks of mica within these stones.
Information: Aventurine is a compact variety of Quartz/Chalcedony containing small included flakes or scales that give it a glistening effect. The inclusions are usually Muscovite mica, but may also be Hematite or Goethite. Though the color of Aventurine is most often associated with green, it can also be other colors such as gray, orange, and brown.
