The color of this Lapis Lazuli is a lovely ultramarine blue with only one piece of pyrite found close to the prongs on the side of this stone. The oval cabochon lapis Lazuli is a very nice size at 16 mm’s in length by 12 mm’s in width and a thickness of 4 mm’s. This piece rises majestically off the finger by 11 mm’s. Using the Dendritic stone calculator this would equate to an approximate 5.36 carat stone.
Not only did the stone speak volumes but the choice of setting is absolutely the perfect complement to this lapis in design and color. The lapis is set firmly using a multiple prong setting which flows rather well with this basket type mounting. On the tops of every band found on the lower level is a textured portion which is a nice contrast to the shinier surfaces. Just the right amount of detail went into the design of this piece of jewelry using what I would refer to as a sculpted dimensional look.
This ring is presently a size 4 ¼ but due in part to the open-back construction will definitely fit a 4 ½ possibly up to a size 4 ¾. This piece was created using a rosier color 14 kt gold and works extremely well with the Lapis Lazuli. Total weight of this ring is 6.10 grams.
Presently this ring possesses a partial gold content mark and what remains is the ‘K’ for karat with the rest worn away over time. Please note that this ring has been tested for gold content and will be guaranteed to be no less than 14 kt rosier yellow gold.
Condition of the Lapis Lazuli is extremely fine with the stone still possessing a very nice surface sheen. Gold is in gently worn condition with all details nice and crisp.
