This rare brooch is one I seldom come across in such excellent condition. Styled as a wreath this superb piece is delicately embellished with the tiniest of seed pearls and turquoise. Smallest seed pearls measure 1 mm with the turquoise measuring 1.5 mm’s. The pearls that are separating the leaves measure approximately 2 mm’s. Each larger pearl between the florets are all peg/post set and all have retained their fine quality luster.
Measurement of this piece is approximately 7/8 inches in diameter and weighs a total of 2.14 grams. On the back you will see a spiral hook which was used somewhat like a chatelaine to add you favorite pocket watch, charm, etui or fob.
Brooch is delicate and refined, simply lovely to look at. Condition is extremely nice, no wear noted to the turquoise and seed pearls. The back frame is perfect with a very nice ‘C’ clasp and hinge closure. Clasp and hinge are in fine working order with no wobble noted to the stick and the pin stays perfectly in place.
This brooch is in exceptional condition with no apparent defects, dents or repairs. Brooch may be worn as is or add your favorite pendant and create a sensational visual that truly is all your own.
Symbolism: In the case of this brooch dotted with seed pearls may personify a brooch used for mourning, as pearls most often represented tears. It would have been worn by someone to hold the memory of a departed loved one.
