18__ Chester River Steamboat Co Stock Certificate. Very attractive Chesapeake Bay steamship scripophily certificate with vignette of two stack sidewheel steamboat. The Chester River Steamboat Co was chartered by Maryland in 1865, taking over the assets of the Slaughter Line. which operated in the Chesapeake Bay before the Civil War. The Chester River Steamboat Co provided service from Baltimore, up the Chester River to Crumpton, and up the Corsica River to Centerville, providing farmers and fishermen access to the Baltimore market and Kent and Queen Anne counties.  In 1905 this company was acquired by the Maryland, Delaware & Virginia RR. EF condition.
