Unissued 1850s vintage turnpike scripophily item with vignettes of George and Martha Washington, a allegorical female soldier (early version of Va state symbol) with ship in background, and small covered wagon. The Newmarket & Sperryville Turnpike was part of an intricate turnpike system in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia that connected Newmarket and Sperryville. Today it forms part of VA Rt 211. VF+ condition.
