1883 Shenandoah Valley RR Stock Certificate. Scarce, very attractive Virginia and West Virginia railroad scripophily document with side vignette of steam locomotive and coal car (The America). The Shenandoah Valley RR was completed in 1882, serving the Shenandoah Valley from Hagerstown, Maryland through the West Virginia panhandle into Virginia to Roanoke, Virginia where it connected with the Norfolk and Western Railway. In 1890, it went into bankruptcy and was reorganized as the Shenandoah Valley Railway. It became part of Norfolk & Western RR in 1890. Today the tracks are a major artery of the Norfolk Southern system. (Source: Wikipedia) VF+ condition.
Purchasing Notes: Payment by check or PayPal. Insurance is bundled with shipping. I use a third party shipping insurer (not USPS, which does not insure 1st class large envelops, and is seriously overpriced due to pervasive fraudulent claims). I offer two domestic shipping choices: $3.50 for first class, and $9.00 for Priority. Priority is recommended for orders over $100. International shipping is $6.00 for a large 1st class envelope. Other international options are usually too expensive. Shipping charge does not increase if you order more than one item. Do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
