1928 Standard Oil Co of Kentucky was incorporated in 1886 and was part of the John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust, which was broken up in a historic 1911 Supreme Court Case. Standard Oil of Kentucky was one of 34 of the Standard Oil pieces resulting from that breakup. It's regional market covered the states of Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. Standard Oil of Kentucky remained independent until it merged with Standard Oil of California (Chevron) in 1961. Standard Oil stock certificates from the 1920s have only rarely been seen previously. This uncommon scripophily document is in VF+ condition with small punch cancellation spelling out "cancelled."
Purchasing Notes: Payment by check or PayPal. You can opt out of insurance, which I generally recommend. Ruby Lane strongly encourages insurance. However, this may not make sense on scripophily shipments (which are not exactly breakable). My experience in mailing thousands of packages is that less than one out of 500 packages does not arrive in good condition. Still, Insurance is recommended on orders over $100. On multiple certificate orders Ruby Lane does not compute the insurance charge correctly. I will correct overpayments, but it is best to get accurate order amount before paying. Do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
