Being offered is a very nice brass Aesthetic Movement gas sconce, Circa 1880. The wall sconce is in great condition with no broken elements. The gas sconce also has an original gas takeoff which was used for a gas portable table lamp. The sconce also has its original gas wall escutcheon and a new wall mounting plate which can be used to mount the sconce to a modern electrical box. The new mounting plate can be painted to match the wall or set slightly below the wall surface and plastered over. The sconce has been previously polished and lacquered.
The sconce comes with a mold blown stencil etched gas shade. The shade has a nice art nouveau inspired floral pattern and a beaded rim. The gas shade is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips.
The sconce projects approximately 12" from the wall and is 9" tall. The shade has a 4" fitter. The sconce has been rewired on the outside of the sconce without any damage to the item, It is ready to install.
