Decoration Day (now Memorial Day) tributes to America’s War Dead are a solemn occasion. Families and
civic organizations were very active in decorating the graves of veterans who died in service during the
early part of the 20th century. This card reflects this tradition. It drapes the headstone in a flag with
an eagle perched on the top. Laurel leaves and a brightly colored wreath are at the base. The card is
embossed. Souvenir Of Decoration Day is printed at the bottom.
The card was not written on or posted. It has edge wear and a light stain on the reverse.
