Gorgeous French Display Cabinet
Dates from 1880-1920.
I'm selling my beautiful French Cabinet.
It's in wonderful condition. See condition
report for details (bottom of the page)
*Offers are welcome. :)
Features:
Beautiful wrapped veneer.
My Husband thinks the cabinet is made of birch.
The whole outside of the cabinet is wrapped in
different colors and patterns of wood veneer.
It is so beautiful.
The finish is very shiny which made it a little hard to take the pictures.
(please pardon the glare from
the camera. There are no white spots or discolored
wood. Its the glare only.)
Across the front top as you can see there is
a gilt cast metal floral garland draped across the
wood, just above the glass.
There is a bow in the center.
I think that it is rare to find a cabinet draped with garland
in this fashion. It really makes the cabinet special.
Also there are 2 large metal decorations. One at each side of the top.
The lower front corners have beautiful ornate decorations that flow to the feet.
The inside has 2 glass shelves.
The fine tufted backing is gorgeous.
It is in near perfect condition.
The color is a little darker than the pictures show.
It is a dark cranberry. It has no fading.
The light made some of the pictures look uneven.
The bottom fabric shelf has 3 small dark spots and
1 tiny hole in the fabric. That's it. The rest of the backing
is perfect.
This cabinet has its key that locks the cabinet.
I have owned this very nice cabinet for about 10 years now.
I purchased it from a private party in Washington D.C. area.
I have loved this cabinet ... now I need to sell due to the
purchase of a very large cabinet. I just don't have the space for
it now.
I can not ship this item, free pick-up or you can arrange your own
shipping.
CONDITION: WONDERFUL ANTIQUE CONDITION
This cabinet is very solid. The finish is nice and shiny.
The door lines up perfect. The lock works great.
The hinges are very secure and work just fine.
No chips or cracks in the glass.
THINGS TO POINT OUT:
There are lot's fine cracks in the veneer.
I never really noticed till I took the pictures.
The rounded corners of the cabinet seem to
be crack free. There could be some I missed.
On the top left side there is a small piece of veneer
missing.
On the top right side near the back there is a
piece of veneer missing and a bent metal trim.
There are a few scratches on the lower front left side.
I never noticed until I took the pics.
SHIPPING: This cabinet can be picked up at my home.
I do not offer fright services. You can arrange your own
shipping and I will asset at my end here.
I have used uship (You ship) before for a cabinet I purchased.
I had a good experience with them.. You can set your own price or
ask for a offer. I had about 7 people reply with a quote.
