Compact in the shape of a Chair
A book item for the serious collector

shown in many collectors book and is very rare.

the jewels are all hand set with wires and prongs.
Each compact or vanity item that was produced
look similar but the jewels are hand applied and
will be in a different arrangement.
These where made in the 40's.
Robert was a jeweler and is famous for his
compacts, vanity items and jewelry.

Note from the Seller:
These chair compacts made by Robert are
similar in a couple of ways...I have found that
his choice of rhinestones where really nice ...
they sparkle richly when the light catches them.
There is a noteable difference from other rhinestones in my opinion.

He used Majestic Compacts for the seat.
All the seats are the same ..They have cushion shape
sides ....and they tend to have gold loss there and or
turn dark with age.

The chair compact will be a good investment
they bring the highest price of his vanity items that I have seen

Excellent vintage condition
The gold is still nice and bright except in some areas listed below.

THINGS TO POINT OUT:
1. The seat top..has some scratches near the opening side, a nick at 3:00,
a slight tiny mild ding at 2:00 and in certain light you can see a few mild light scratches
2. If you look at the seat...the sides have become dull...normal for this compact.
3. most of the stones sparkle ......a few may not be as bright.
4. All the rhinestones look to be present..All the larger pearls are there, it may be possible that
a few of the tiny seed pearls could be missing, then again it may have been designed or applied that way.
5. I note that usually there is a green felt cover that goes under the compact .. this one is missing it. see last picture
