We are pleased to offer this incredible vintage brooch and earring set. In addition to Dorothy's large collection of costume jewelry, she has a substantial collection of fine jewelry items. This set features a large brooch and matching clip earrings. They are 14kt yellow gold, marked. The brooch has one oval shaped amethyst measuring 25mm x 17mm and weighs a total of 25.4 dwt, including the stones. It is accented with ten 2.7mm native cut rubies of average quality. The accompanying clip earrings are each set with an oval amethyst measuring 16mm x 8mm. The set is visually captivating! The brushed gold creates color variances depending on the angle of refraction. There are no additional markings, so the origin is unknown. Since she traveled the world, this set could have come from any location. Using insurance appraisal papers, we have determined that this set was purchased between 1965 and 1982. This set was appraised March 2011. No damage was noted in the appraisal.
