A rare an unusual Georgian era large ring in 14K gold and silver. The monolithic ring has a square cut, lush natural green emerald in its center. Two diamond shaped emeralds are prong set at the top and bottom. The face of the ring is comprised of hand-wrought silver and is encrusted with marcasite gemstones. It has a distinct antique look and is quite the statement piece. The stones are all set into a closed back gallery which is a signature feature for Georgian era pieces. The shank is 14K gold is the perfect compliment for the ring. It has large scrolls at the shoulders and a plain band. The face measures 1 1/2 inches. The size is 8 3/4. Clearly a matriarchal ring for a powerful woman. Circa 1790. Beautiful and captivating 18th Century ring.
