A heavy pair of windmill bookends with a bronze patina with copper highlights. They are large and well-cast. The windmills design sits at an angle so that it show much in a shallow space. They have old felts on the bases.
There is a gold paper label on the base of one of the bookends that reads PATENT PENDING LACQUERED PRODUCTS CO. There are also aged paper labels with the words 57K Bronze on the bases of both.
6 ¾” (17.1 cm) tall x 5” (12.7 cm) wide x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) deep. Weighs 7 lbs 6.8 oz (3370 g)
There are no cracks, dents, or breaks. There are slight wear scratches on both, and wear along the edges where a copper color from the underlying metal shows through. There is some oxidization in the recessed area. The felts, which are original, are worn with fraying at the edges.
A great heavy pair of bookends that will be oh so useful. I love the windmill motif.
