A matched pair of arts and crafts bookends with a handmade look of beaten copper with a stylized design of sailing ships in full sail and still have a shiny appearance .
Thin sheets of copper have been stamped with stylized designs of sailing ships sailing before the wind with clouds above and waves below. The backs have an almost black patina. There are no felts on the bases. They rest flat on a surface and are fairly light weight.
They do not have any maker’s mark.
5 ½” (14.0 cm) tall x 6” (15.2 cm) wide x 2” (5.1 cm) deep. Weighs 14.6 oz (415 g)
There is light to moderate wear to the fronts with abrasions and scratches. The scratches are light and mostly just through the clear lacquer coating that prevents oxidation . They still have a shiny appearance. There are no breaks, or dents.
A great pair of arts and crafts bookends to be used and admired.
