A heavy pair of bookends by Frankart that are very much in the Deco style.
A molded gray metal, heavy pair of bookends in the Deco curvilinear design of parrots on their perch. They have a golden patina with brown felt on the flat bases.
They are signed on the back above the base with a molded mark. The mark is FRANKART INC. PAT. APPLD FOR. Frankart manufactured some of the most stunning and evocative bookends of the period.
7” (17.8 cm) tall x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) wide x 3 ½” (8.9 cm) deep. Weighs 4 lb 1.3 oz (1850 g)
The patina on the pair has spotting and losses. Please review the photos carefully. There is corrosion just above the base on the edges. One parrot is wobbles a bit on its base. They still have a great Deco look.
A sculptural pair of bookends with that wonderful Deco look. They will add substance and age to your home, and would look great with other Art Deco objects.
