A whimsical butter dish with the iconic cow as a finial that will grace a kitchen or dining table.
The lid is domed shaped and has a cow figural finial. The lid and foot have repousse designs and a loop handle. The interior well is deep without a pierced tray for holding the butter.
The manufacturer’s mark on the bottom has a scale encircled by the words “MIDDLETOWN PLATE CO. QUADRUPLEPLATE”. The number “439” and the words “HARD WHITE METAL” are also stamped in the bottom.

There are no cracks, or breaks. The horns on the cows head are intact. There is pitting inside the well. The dish still has a fair amount of silver but there are losses. The foot has a couple of small nicks and an area where it was joined from manufacture.
