A fun, detailed, over-the-top Victorian silver plate napkin ring with a design of a fairy being pulled by a butterfly. The small fairy in the active pose of a rider on the round ring and being pulled by a butterfly as it lands on a flower. The base is a branchlet with leaves. The detail is nice and deep. There is an etched pattern on the round outer ring.
There are no labels or manufacture’s marks. There is a circular area on the base that may be where a stamp was attempted.
3 ¾” (.5 cm) tall x 3 ¾” (9.5 cm) long x 2 1/8” (5.4 cm) wide. Weighs 6.7 oz (190 g)
There are no breaks or cracks. There are silver losses and some scratches, but it still has some silver and polished up rather nicely. The small chain is missing from the fairy to the butterfly.
A fun, whimsical napkin ring that will be a great addition to a collection or even be used at a dinner.
