A dramatic large table centerpiece that would have held fruit or flowers. Greek goddesses rise from an octagonal base. The basket has a crenelated edge and an etched diamond design in the well. The outer corners are decorated with raised floral designs.
The base is flat, with a hole in the center. There is a worn stamped makers mark on the base that reads SIMPSON HALL MILLER CO. AND THE NUMBER 1600. I can’t make out the rest of the mark.
12” (30.5 cm) long x 10” (25.4 cm) wide x 12” (30.5 cm) tall Weighs 5 lb 2.7 oz (2345 g)
There are no cracks, breaks or dents. The piece still has considerable silver and has shined up nicely. The pedestal rests flat on a surface. One of the Goddesses has a small indent in her abdomen from manufacture (see photo). There are light scratches from age and use.
A large dramatic centerpiece to brighten a table setting.
