A cute little chick inscribed with “best wishes” on the ring.
A heavy metal has been cast in the shape of a chick on a wishbone with a ring and a forward chicken foot and then silver plated. The ring and chick rest on a small tray with a scroll work edge. The ring has the same scroll work edge. The napkin ring has shined up and still has some silver but it would need re-plating to look like new. The napkin ring rests on four ball feet.
The mark WILCOX SILVER QUADRUPLE PLATE in a circle is stamped on the base. It has been partially obliterated and is hard to read. There is a stamped production number 4392.
3 ¾” (9.5 cm) long x 2 ½” (6.4 cm) wide x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) tall. Weighs 4.6 oz (130 g)
There are no breaks, dents or cracks. The piece could use re-plating for a like new finish, or just leave as is. It still has some shine.
A wonderful quaint, nostalgic, antique napkin ring to add to a collection or give to someone to give them best wishes. I love the chicken foot. An ever so over the top piece of Victoriana.
