A bright shiny silver plate pickle castor frame with a coordinating cranberry glass that shows the elegance of form and function from the Victorian era.

A heavy metal frame has been silver plated and has had a cranberry glass insert fitted in. The glass jar has a matching silver plate lid with a wreath like finial. There is a handle on the frame side for a pair of elaborate claw like tongs. The base rim has a repousse design of butterflies and flowers. The metal frame rests flat on a surface. The glass fits snugly in the frame and the lid fits snugly on the glass.

There are no marks on the base except for an impressed production number of 2360 and a scratched in number of 5163-6.

MEASUREMENTS

10” (25.4 cm) tall x 4 1/8” (10.5 cm) diameter. Weighs 1 lb. 5.7 oz (615 g)

CONDITION

There are no cracks, chips, or breaks in the glass. The frame is complete with no dents, cracks, or breaks. There is wear to the silver; however the metal has polished up well and still has much silver.

A colorful and shiny pickle castor to add to a collection or just enjoy in a window with the light streaming through it.
