The pretty little jar from the Chinese Republic period (c 1900)is decorated in butterflies, peonies, a Lake Tai stone and a pheasant in overglaze enamels in rust, green and black, all on a background of an off white crackle glaze. There is a toothed base border and a green band with scrolls at the neck. The glaze has a nice thick feel. The base footring is unglazed but the base is glazed. The opening has a well potted lip. The interior has the same crackle glaze as the outside.
The word "China" has been stamped on the bottom in rust red.
Measures 4" diameter and 3 ¾" tall.
There are no chips, breaks or cracks.
