A colorful, free- painted design in the Japanese tradition that borrows from fabric patterns.

The ceramic molded form has been glazed in traditional Oribe colors of greens and browns. The outside of the dish is ribbed and has designs of cherry blossoms in brown. The well has a design of a rock and plants. The style of painting is very free and easy. The green glaze in the central well has a transmutation edge in red purple. The base is unglazed and it has three conical feet with the tips of each unglazed. The glaze on the dish has crazing.

The dish has a stamped mark on the base in an oval cartouche that reads MADE IN JAPAN.
