A substantial Victorian era pitcher with a thoughtful design of a calla lily growing through geometric chicken wire.

A molded medium-weight ceramic has been glazed with a slightly off white glaze. The glaze feels smooth and looks shiny. The pitcher has a wide pouring spout with a large open mouth. The mouth indents slightly and curves to a wide bulbous round body. The body is molded with a geometric chicken wire pattern. Molded calla lily flowers appear to grow through the chicken wire. In between the wire pattern, the body has been molded with a tight even stipple pattern. The handle is florid, curved, and substantial. It has an in bedded molded calla lily. The shallow foot is partially glazed while the base is glazed.

There are no marks or labels.

CONDITION

There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. There are tiny kiln flaws such as bumps, pin holes, and black spots. These are tiny and don’t detract from the overall perfection of the pitcher.

An elegant shaped and executed pitcher. This pitcher because of the simple white color would look good in many decors. It shouts out "summer".
