A porcelain gourd shaped bottle with designs of cherry blossoms and medallions similar to heraldic mons that represents families. The designs have been painted in underglaze cobalt, green, black and iron red glazes. When held to the light the porcelain is translucent.
The base has a very shallow foot that is unglazed along with the rest of the base. There are no marks or labels on the base. It rests flat on a surface.
6 ¼” (15.9 cm) tall x 3 ½” (8.9 cm) diameter. Weighs 7.1 oz (205 g)
There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. There is light wear to some of the iron red glaze and much of the gilding is worn.
A fun sake bottle to display or use. I love the gourd shape.
