An intricate, well painted design of a peony, banana, and magnolia surrounding a building. It has been painted with a nice deep cobalt.
The very thinly potted porcelain dish is very translucent. The glaze has a bluish tint and is very thick, with a soft feeling. The dish has a shallow unglazed foot that is very white and refined. The base is glazed that is unmarked.
MEASUREMENTS
4 ½” (11.4 cm) diameter x ¾” (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 2.2 oz (65 g)
CONDITION
There is a short hairline extending from the rim that is visible on both sides of the dish. There are no cracks, chips, or breaks, and the dish rings true. There is very slight wear to the well of the dish. There are kiln flaws, such as pin hole reserves and tiny black spots.
An amazing dish to have survived in such good condition. The painting is very classic and well executed. I love the design.
