A delicate porcelain dish with a design of a myriad of flowers with leaves that has been painted with a deep blue cobalt.
The translucent thinly potted porcelain dish has a thick, smooth, and shiny glaze with a bluish cast. The cobalt used is a nice dark blue with shading. The design is of flowers both on the front and back of the dish. The clay used is a nice refined white.
It has a shallow cut foot that is unglazed. The base is glazed. There is a central painting of a lotus blossom on the base.
5” (12.7 cm) diameter x ¾” (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 3.4 oz (95 g)
There are no cracks or breaks. The foot ring has some rough spots and the rim has a few frits. Otherwise, there is very little wear. It is bright and shiny.
An expertly painted, delicate dish that is very old and has survived intact. I love the color of blue. It will go great in the home with a collection of blue and white.
