A delicate, hand painted blue and white teacup with amazing painting and very fine translucent porcelain .
The thinly potted porcelain teacup has been painted with peony scrolls on the outer body and a peony blossom in the central well. There is a delicate band of clouds and quatrefoils on the inside rim. The cobalt is a deep, dark blue.
The foot is shallow and unglazed. The base is glazed. The cup is so thin and translucent.
2 ¾” (7.0 cm) diameter x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) tall. Weighs 1.7 oz (50 g)
There are glaze frits on the mouth, but no breaks, cracks, or chips. There are kiln flaws, such as bumps and black spots.
An amazing fine teacup that is so old but is still bright and shiny. It will give richness and substance to a collection of blue and white.
