A large hand painted blue and white Japanese porcelain plate with a design of mountains, ocean, village and flying geese.
The plate has a crimped edged and is deep (or could be used a shallow bowl). It has a shallow unglazed foot, and a glazed base with five spur marks. The underside also has a very quick painting in cobalt of stylized mountains. The glaze feels thick and very smooth. The white glaze has a light blueish tinge to it

CONDITION
There are no chips, cracks, or breaks, and the plate rings true. There is wear to the central well and some light brown staining on the cavetto near the mountain There are kiln flaws, such as a few black spots and cobalt explosions.
It is a large porcelain that can be seen from a distance.
