A quickly painted bowl with a pair of deep blue dragons circling the pearl of wisdom. The shallow porcelain bowl is heavily potted and has a thick and soft, crackled glaze. The bowl has a shallow rounded unglazed foot and glazed base. The foot and base are literally covered in grit. The base glaze is slightly blue tinted. The cobalt used is a deep almost black blue with many spots of cobalt explosion. The painting is quick but professionally done.
6 ¾” diameter x 1 3/8” tall. Weighs 9.7 oz (280 g)
There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. There may be a hairline extending approximately ¾” from the edge on the back. It shows on the underside but may only be crackle in the glaze. There is wear to the well surface, and kiln flaws, such as pin holes, cobalt flows, and a couple of blue dots.
A very old freestyle dragon bowl with that great deep blue color. It will add to a collection or can be used to give your home décor substance, age, and richness.
