Hand potted and hand painted large prunus vase that is a match stick or bottle shape. You can see and feel the potter’s wheel marks under the glaze.
A heavy hand potted porcelain vase with a tall cylinder neck and bulbous bottle shaped body. The vase has good glaze control as the glaze stops evenly above the foot. The glaze feels very smooth and looks shiny. The cobalt used is a deep blue with a hint of purple. The design is of plum branches in bloom with two branches equidistant. The painting is slightly blurred. The foot and mouth rim are not painted.
The vase has a raised unglazed foot and a glazed base. There is a double ring of cobalt on the base but no other marks or labels.
11 ¾” (29.8 cm) tall x 6 ½” (16.5 cm) diameter. Weighs 2 lb 8.6 oz (1150 g)
**NOTE---There was a break at the mouth and the pieces were re-stuck. **There are no other chips or cracks. There are slight wear scratches.
A large decorative vase in cobalt blue that will add to a display of blue and white. The prunus design is classic and elegant.
