Intricately, painted and potted porcelain dishes with foliate rims that have under glaze cobalt and over glaze enamels in imaginative phoenix designs.
Heavy refined shallow porcelain dishes with a silk brocade design with floral scrolling, phoenixes, and elaborate medallions The foliate rim has a line of gilding. The underside have a triple concentric circles of cobalt above the foot.
The porcelain glaze is fairly thick with a slight blue cast. The glaze feels soft and smooth like silk. A pale under glaze cobalt has been painted first then fired. A second firing was done after the over glaze enamels of red, green, gray, black and gold were painted on.
The dishes have slight unglazed foot rings. The bases are glazed. There is a Japanese mark in cobalt blue in the center of each of the bases.

There are no chips, breaks, or cracks. The plates ring like bells. There is gilding wear on the lip of the dishes. There is some wear on the central wells of the dishes, as well as gilding losses. They looks fresh and bright for their age.
