A large intricate, cuff Chinese silver bracelet with carved coral peony blossom and a round white jadeite medallion.
The silver bracelet has been hand tooled with a design of pairs of Buddhist lion heads that encircle a white jade disc and a carved coral peony blossom. There are also three clawed dragons in repousse that are seeking the pearl of wisdom. The bracelet has a pin hinge on one side and a button clasp on the opposite side.
The jade cabochon has a very pale green color cast (the photo is pretty accurate). The coral is a lovely peachy-red color.
The words “SILVER” and “MADE IN CHINA” are stamped inside the bracelet.
Outer diameter 2 3/8”(5.9 cm)
Inner diameter 2 1/16” (5.2 cm)
2 1/4" (5.7 cm) wide)
Jade cabochon 21 mm diameter
Coral cabochon 21 mm diameter.
Weighs 2.8 oz (80 g)
Other than light wear scratches, the silver work has no damages outside. There are a couple of very small dents on the inside (see circled areas in two of the photos). The clasp works well. The jade cabochon has light scratches. The very tip of one flower petal on the coral carving is chipped. Otherwise the stones are in very good condition.
A large silver bracelet by an expert, old school artisan. It would still be a rich, fashionable statement today.
