A meticulous, colorful, and detailed Japanese cloisonné vase that has so much handwork.
A bronze metal vase has been covered in brass wires and filled in with glass enamels. The vase has designs of rondels on the body with floral motifs. The shoulder has a circle of flowers. There are colored enamels above the flat base. The vase enamels feel so soft and smooth. You can see the bronze on the exposed mouth rim and base.
5” (12.7 cm) tall x 2 ¾” (7.0 cm) diameter. Weighs 4.7 oz (130 g)
There is an enamel loss above the base, but no other cracks, breaks, or chips. The enamels are still fresh and bright. The enamels show pitting from manufacture.
A small work of art to add to a collection or add a touch of age and richness to the home.
