An incredibly beautiful Japanese work of art. The cloisonné work is incredibly intricate and detailed.
A heavy base bronze metal has been covered in brass wires and filled in with glass enamels in a design of a dragon, butterflies, mythical beasts and flowers. The workmanship is top notched. The design is so intricate and all pervasive, and the colors are bright and clear.
The foot is raised and the base is glazed in a dark deep green and black. The mouth rim and foot show the dark bronze with an aged patina. There are no marks or labels.
The more recent wood base is included with the bowl.
4 ½” diameter x 2 ½” tall. Weighs 10.9 oz (310 g)
There are no cracks, breaks, or chips. The enamels are generally still bright and intact, although there is pitting to the enamels from manufacture. There is oxidization age spotting to the bronze on the rim and foot.
A stunning bowl with so much hand work and artistry. It will add so much richness to a collection or home décor.
