A papier-mache and composition candy container that was made in the shape of the lucky German Pig.
A sculpted body of plaster has been coated in a paper Mache and then painted. His head comes off to reveal the hollow that was to be filled with candy for a child at Christmas. I especially love the detail in the face of the pig. There are no marks or labels.
3 3/8” (8.4 cm) long x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) wide x 2” (5.1 cm) tall. Weighs 2.0 oz (55 g)
There are a few paint losses on a back foot and one on the hind quarter. There is age wear to the paint but it is still intact. For the delicacy of the object, it is in very good condition.
A fun and wonderful object to add to a Christmas collection, candy container collection or a collection of pigs.
