A colorful fish scale cloisonné with a shaded intricate design of a rose bush and a peony that shimmers in the light. The short vase has a shallow foot that shows the brass base metal, as does the mouth.
There is a mark on the base with two Japanese characters within an oval cartouche.
4 ¾” 12.1 cm) tall x 3” (7.6 cm) diameter. Weighs 5.7 oz (160 g)
There is cracking of the enamel under the mouth, as well as a crack coming from the base that extends through the purple peony flower. There is some verdigris on the edge of the foot. The bottle still has a good complete look that shines.
A colorful, shiny fish scale vase to add to a collection or admire in your home. A very difficult vase to make.
