A very white, well carved, hand polished carving of a dog that has a hole by the paws for hanging on a cord.

A dense heavy stone that has been carved into the shape of a dog at rest. The stone has small brown inclusions and is translucent when held to a light. The artist used one inclusion to accent the tip of the tail. The carving is very deep with sharp line quality. The underside is finished as well and even the individual toes of the paws are defined. The finish is soft and luminous. It was hand polished. The carving feels smooth and cool to the touch. It is a nice jade to fondle.

MEASUREMENTS
1 ¾” (4.4 cm) long x 5/8” (1.6 cm) tall x ½” (1.3 cm) wide. Weighs .9 oz (25 g)

CONDITION
There are no cracks, chips, or breaks.

An old well-made carving of a dog that could be worn today as a necklace or pendant. The carving was well thought out.
