This sweet little Toni walker doll was created by the Ideal Toy Corporation between 1954 and 1956. Her green sleep eyes work perfectly and all eye lashes are intact. Her face coloring is lovely. She walks very well and can even walk backwards! Her head doesn’t move when she walks.
Markings are “P-90W” and “Ideal Doll” on the head plus “Ideal Doll” and “90 W” on the body.
This 14-1/2” Toni walker doll (called sub-deb size) is extra special because her beautiful blonde hair has a light golden streak in the back of her hair. Please review the picture to see this unusual feature.
The only flaws we can report are two small black marks on her wrist and forearm where the original doll tag would have hung. You can see this mark in the photograph of her looking to the right with her arm raised.
Toni has her factory sheer white dress with pink polka dots over an attached blue dress, underwear, shoes and socks. Her outfit is untagged but original. The bottoms of her shoes have the raised characters, “4T” and “Made in U.S.A.” Her dress could use a gentle washing as there is some soiling, including a green spot on the bodice of her dress. There is a ¼” x ¼” hole in the back of the dress. (Please review photograph.)
A Toni walker doll in this condition and with a unique golden streak in her long blonde hair is indeed a rare find. She would be sure to find a priority location within your mid-century doll collection. Doll stand is not included in the sale.
