This beautiful, mixed metal bracelet was made in Japan in the 1930s or '40s. It is often mistakenly referred to as shakudo, and is actually a damascene (oxidized black) bracelet containing 9 round links showing various Oriental art scenes. The inlay is 24 karat gold, silver and copper and it is marked 24K on one of the links.
It measures 7 3/8" long and 1/2" wide with a secure, tongue-in-groove clasp. The safety chain is still attached.
The setting is either gold-plate or brass plate, and the back of this bracelet has some age-related wear.
Prettier in person (the camera just doesn't do justice to the intricacy of this piece!), this is a lovely, dark-inspired piece for vintage wear or collection.
