1960/70s ILGWU ~ Victorian Revival Peach Lace Maxi Gown
This long, sultry peach lace maxi gown has a style reminiscent of the Victorian period. It has a high-neck collar and a bodice embellished with lace and embroidery.
Made in the USA and labeled ILGWU, Size 8, this garment measures 57.5" long from shoulder to lower hem. The bust measures 16" across, the waist is 12.5" across and the flexible hips are 15" from seam to seam. It would look stunning on a tall, slim woman.
Morticia (my mannequin) stands 5'9" tall and her measurements are 32" x 25" x 35" and it fits her beautifully. Please be sure to check your measurements since the lace bodice does not allow for size flexibility.
This dress closes with a rear zipper and hook and thread closures on the neck and 26" long, lacy sleeves.
Circa 1960/70s, it is in excellent condition and without damage. The hook closures behind the neck are fully intact, but there are signs of thread unravel at the hook closures on the sleeves (a simple repair).
This garment is without holes, stains, or other noted damage. I believe the skirt is made of polyester or nylon blend material. It has a flowing sweep, which was a very fashionable design of this period.
I have not cleaned this garment and will leave that decision to the buyer. This romantic dress will make an attractive addition to your vintage wardrobe.
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: Peach, Size: S
