RARE Circa 1910 Girls' Basketball Team B&W 8x10 Framed Photograph ~ Excellent condition
Enjoy a rare glimpse into the life of a girls' basketball team circa 1910 with this nostalgic black and white photograph. The photo depicts eight teenage girls dressed in what appears to be basketball team uniforms displaying the initials "MHS." Two girls are lying on the ground in the front of the group with a basketball in between them with the same initials painted on it. Behind them are five more young ladies posed on their knees. The back row includes two teenage girls standing on each end - one in uniform, and one in a white shirt. An older gentleman in a coat and tie stands between these two girls. The outdoor setting appears to be located in a residential yard, as a house can be seen in the background.
This 8" long x 10" wide photo is housed in its original 10.5" long by 13" wide black wood frame. It has been professionally matted in off-white with a golden tan border. The following text is stamped in a faded black on the brown paper backing on the reverse side of the frame: "Photo Framing by" "COON & COFFEY, INC" "JEWELERS" "203 South Tryon Street Charlotte, N.C." A sturdy wire hanger is already installed on the back for instant enjoyment.
This antique framed photo is in excellent condition with little wear to the frame noted. There is some antique yellowing of the mat and a few minor tears in the frame backing.
This is a rare find for antique photo collectors or anyone who enjoys adding a bit of nostalgia to their decor.
