Vintage 82" by 102" cotton fabric textile in two sewn together pieces, marked 'Made in British India' on the back. Kalamkari wood block printed style. Printed on one side only in an elaborate but primitive design in the style of the country of India. I assume pre-1947 due to the "British" India written on the back. Multicolored and black dyes used on a pale yellow fabric(the photos are a bit lighter). The piece is in very good condition. I see no damage or stains and smell no odors. The long sides are with their flat selvage and the shorter ends have a slight fringe. The seams are machine sewn with a somewhat wide stitch at about 9 stitches per inch. I am not sure if is has all been hand printed but the edges in black look to be that way. The piece is probably not color stable when washed.
It is a lovely, unique piece and could be used for a wall hanging, room divider, bedspread, tablecloth, etc.
