Who doesn't love the early Effanbee Dy-Dee babies. Especially those whose rubber bodies have managed to stand the test of time. This 11" Dy-Dee Ellen has an intact rubber body (left lower leg shows slight flattening - see photo), intact applied ears (left ear slightly flattened - see photo,) reddish blonde caracul wig, brown sleep eyes with painted lower lashes and applied upper hair lashes. She has a round faded spot on her left upper temple - see photos. She retains all of her fingers and toes. Her rubber body is still supple, arms and legs move easily - neck joint is stiff and I did not force it. She comes in a lovely cardboard suitcase ( doubt that it is original to her but, of the same time period.) The suitcase is in good condition with intact clasps and handle. There are two stickers on the lid of the suitcase - one from "Eastern Airlines, the great silver fleet" and "Asheville-Biltmore Hotel - to: Mrs. Lucia Ciariuola and daughter." There is a sticker on the inside lid show casing a little girl feeding her baby doll and it reads "Drinks-N-Wets Nursing Doll." Within the suitcase are the following items: 11" Dy-Dee Ellen wearing a pink check dress, matching panties, pink and white knit booties. A yellow corderoy coat and matching hat (some yellow age staining on coat and hat.). A Dy-Dee spoon. A pink Dy-Dee pacifier. A glass bottle with rubber nipple (there is an imressed child on the front of the bottle.) A blue/white plastic rattle. A green sponge. A teething ring. A white burping cloth (some yellow age spotting.) A floral flannel shirt. A white cotton/pink embroidered edging diaper. A "Dolli-pin" clothes line and clothes pin set - missing one clothes pin. A hand embroidered quilt with the letter "B" embroidered in the middle of the quilt. All in good condition.
