This vintage 1920's print is displayed in a newer 12-1/2" x 15-1/2" gilded and glassed wooden frame. Surounded by a black mat, the image itself is 7-1/2" x 9-1/2". The artist who painted the original picture is one of my favorites, Mable Lucie Atwell, a British author/artist, whose work was popular from 1900-1962. Known for her endearing children, based on her daughter, Margorie, Atwell was famous for illustrating many classics, including the book, "Peter Pan". Greeting cards, postcards, magazines and books abound with her art work. She even designed a child's tea set. I cannot find her printed signature, but the colors of gray blue, red, green, white and tan are happy and fabulous, a perfect picture in a child's room!
